Sneakerness calls on everyone to donate sneakers this weekend

Fashion lovers and sneakerheads can be found this weekend in Rotterdam at Sneakerness. This time not only the most exclusive sneakers and streetwear outfits can be found there; a special ‘donation tree’ is being built from sneakers. Everyone is invited to hand in their old (or new) pair at the event so that Sneaker Paradise can hand it out personally in different areas of Africa. Tickets are available here.

The guys behind Sneaker Paradise have been busy for ten years. Once a year, they drive to Africa themselves, to provide shoes for people who need it most – even in small mountain villages. Collected money is used to buy food packages and toys for the little ones. Costs that they incur for transport, accommodation, and accommodation are fully paid by themselves. There are many charities, but in my view, this is as it should be. So personal and unpaid, I find that very special. ”

Program highlights

REC.Festival is taking place this week in Rotterdam with a multi-day music program – the perfect opportunity for a great collaboration. This means that there will be an official Sneakerness afterparty on Saturday at REC.Festival, with no one less than Sevn Alias, Kevin and CHO in Annabel. Anyone with a Sneakerness ticket can enter for free. Conversely, REC. visitors can have their sneakers cleaned for free at Sneakerness.

Program on Sneakerness

In the Submarine Wharf this weekend, there are not only thousands of exclusive sneakers for sale at the various stands and at the special Woei sale, you can also choose to hand in your sneakers for donation or at the ‘StockX drop off point’; they take care of the shipping and you get the value of the sneakers paid. There is also a photo exhibition by Nikki van Toorn with a special Rotterdam theme and you can have your sneakers professionally cleaned at Crep Protect. Kids can build sneakers from Lego at Foot Locker and ladies can have their nails cared for by nail artists from The Happy Toko. Traditionally there is a hairdresser and you can have a tattoo put on you. There is also a chill area with drinks, food and tunes from DJ Turne.
